Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 July 2026

These terms govern access to and use of the Afriikanet billing platform ("Service") by internet service providers and their authorised staff ("you"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. This agreement is governed by the laws of Kenya.

The Service

Afriikanet provides bandwidth metering, automated invoicing, subscriber management, and mobile money reconciliation for internet service providers. The Service connects to your existing RADIUS or PPPoE infrastructure and supported payment channels. Afriikanet is operated by WordSpace Kenya.

Accounts and trial period

New accounts include a 14-day trial with no card required. After the trial, continued use requires an active subscription on one of the published plans. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Acceptable use

Payments and mobile money reconciliation

Afriikanet reconciles payments received through connected mobile money and bank channels against open invoices. We are not a party to the underlying payment transaction between you and your subscriber, and are not liable for failures caused by third-party payment networks. Payments are processed in Kenyan Shillings (KES) where applicable.

Availability

We target high availability for the billing engine and use a resilient, failover-capable architecture. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where practical.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, Afriikanet is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service, including losses caused by third-party network or payment provider outages. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Termination

You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the acceptable use provisions above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be notified via email or through the platform.

Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising from these terms or the use of the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Kenya.
