Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
This policy explains what information Afriikanet (Power by WordSpace Kenya) collects when you visit this website or use our billing platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have — including how we use cookies. This policy is governed by the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us directly, such as name, phone number, and email, when you request a trial or contact sales.
- Account and billing data for ISPs using the platform, including subscriber counts, invoice records, and payment reconciliation logs.
- Basic technical data such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, used only to keep the site working well and to understand aggregate usage.
How we use cookies
We use two categories of cookies on this site:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site and cookie banner itself to function. These are always active and cannot be switched off, since the site would not work correctly without them.
- Optional cookies (analytics & marketing) — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, and measure the performance of our marketing. These are only set if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject non-essential," none of these are set.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for this site, which will show the banner again on your next visit.
How we use your information
We use collected information to operate and improve the billing platform, respond to enquiries, send service-related communication such as invoices and payment confirmations, and — only with consent — measure and improve marketing performance.
Data security
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256. We maintain strict access controls and regular security testing, and we never sell subscriber or financial data to third parties. As a platform operated by WordSpace Kenya, we are committed to protecting your data in accordance with Kenyan data protection laws.
Data sharing
We share data only with the mobile money and payment providers needed to process a transaction, and with service providers who help us run the platform under confidentiality obligations. We do not share subscriber data with advertisers.
Your rights under Kenyan law
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at info@afriikanet.co.ke. You also have the right to withdraw consent where applicable.
